Friends of Two Countries - Study Chinese Language in China Program
Macau PLOPS responded to the call from President Xi Jinping and implemented the spirit of friendships between countries. Between August 2017 to June 2018, Macau PLOPS sponsored six students from Guinea Bissau to study Chinese Language at Guangzhou Jinan University School of Chinese Language. The one year program allows students to study the Chinese culture and language in China, with their flights, tuition fees and accommodation fees all paid for from the sponsorship, allowing them to gain a deep understanding of the Chinese culture and learn to read and write basic Chinese.
Learning Success
The first group of students began learning basic level of the language, and after one year of study, they can already use Mandarin to introduce themselves and participate in full conversations. The School acknowledged their determination in studying and the students participated actively in school activities, trying to play different roles in order to experience the spirit of the Chinese Culture, at the same time actively learn the language and culture, hoping to use the language as a tool to bring the people of the two countries closer.
